The Miracle
I'd like to share this poem with you. It is my favorite of all those I have written. I hope you will enjoy it....
Every day we live our “life”, that is what we perceive.
We search so hard for miracles; it’s what we all believe.
We look at life from the other side; we wait and wish for more.
We sit and watch for each big wave to meet us on the shore.
We dream of things that are to come, not thinking of “today”,
True happiness we crave, so close, but yet so far away.
Our eyes wide open, true enough, but still we cannot see
The happiness within ourselves, the kind that sets you free.
And so…
Be kind to all and do your share, for it will bring you peace,
Connect to all of nature’s gifts; your loneliness will cease.
Be thankful every single day, just be humble and stay true.
No need to search, your dream is there,
the miracle is YOU.

The Gift
This poem won awards and was featured on a collection called "Sparkles In The Sand"
For the time it took to make a flower; the forest and the trees
For the time it took to make a pond; the oceans and the seas,
For the time it took to make a stone; the mountains and the sand
God took equal time to find what was missing in his great land.
So he made love, and he made hope, and everything that’s good.
He gave the earth a laugh and song and all the smiles he could.
When he was done he blessed it all, and clothed it with the morning dew.
Then he gave the Earth his greatest gift; he gave the Earth…You!

Your Journey
Death as we known it is not real. Your spirit never dies. It will live on into your next journey...
Live every day like it’s your last, because it may well be,
Celebrate your life, don’t live in fear, be committed, but be free.
Speak all that is required said; and say it loud & clear,
Announce it deep from in your soul, let every person hear.
And when you breathe your last deep breath, do it with a smile,
Mourning is for those who do not know; they will in just a while.
Embrace it all, you’ve walked the path, you’ve awakened to the truth,
You once were old, but now instead, you leave this world a youth.
Your spirit brave will guide you; to where it is you go,
Fear not, it’s been decided, just take it nice and slow.
You’ve planned this day for a million years, perhaps a little more,
Rejoice, Rejoice, your time has come, pass through that open door!

Pony Wisdom
Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it.
From a distance, each looks like every other horse.
But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing. Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind.
His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him. This alone is amazing. If nearby and listening, you will hear the sound of a bell.
Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.
Attached to her halter is a small bell. It lets her blind friend know where she is, so he can follow her.
As you stand and watch these two friends, you'll see how she is always checking on him, and that he will listen for her bell and then slowly walk to where she is, trusting that she will not lead him a stray.
When she returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, she stops occasionally and looks back, making sure her friend isn't too far behind to hear the bell.
Like the owners of these two horses, Mother Nature does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.
She watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need.
Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who she places in our lives.
Other times we are the guide horse, helping others see. Good friends are like this.
You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Please listen for my bell and I'll listen for yours.

Interesting Perspective
There was a blind girl who hated herself because she was blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He was always there for her. She told her boyfriend, 'If I could only see the world, I will marry you.' One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her. When the bandages came off, she was able to see everything, including her boyfriend. He asked her, Now that you can see the world, will you marry me?' The girl looked at her boyfriend and saw that he was blind. The sight of his closed eyelids shocked her. She hadn't expected that. The thought of looking at them the rest of her life led her to refuse to marry him. Her boyfriend left in tears and days later wrote a note to her saying: 'Take good care of your eyes, my dear, for before they were yours, they were mine.'
This is how the human brain often works when our status changes. Only a very few remember what life was like before, and who was always by their side in the most painful situations.
Life Is a Gift.
Today before you say an unkind word - Think of someone who can't speak.
Before you complain about the taste of your food - Think of someone who has nothing to eat.
Before you complain about your husband or wife - Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion. Today before you complain about life - Think of someone who went too early to heaven.
Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.
And when you are tired and complain about your job - Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.
And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down - Put a smile on your face and think: you're alive and still around.

Dust If You Must
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture or write a letter
Bake a cake or plant a seed
Ponder the difference between want and need
Dust if you must but there's not much time
With rivers to swim and mountains to climb
Music to hear and books to read
Friends to cherish and life to lead
Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With the sun in your eyes and the wind in your hair
A flutter of snow and a shower of rain
This day will not come around again
Dust if you must but bear in mind
Old age will come and it's not kind
And when you go - and go you must
You, yourself, will make more dust

The Sunflower Seed
Here I sit gazing At a sunflower seed
A tiny little creature but a dire need
Air, food & water keep you alive, so they say
But I would have died long ago without one seed each day.

The Onion
Love is like an onion
You taste it with delight
But when it's gone you wonder
Whatever made you bite?

Dandelion Wine
Roses are red, Violets are blue,
Both are quite pretty, aah yes this is true.
Dandelions are yellow and perhaps not as fine.
But then Violets and Roses will not make me my wine.

Yesterday Upon the Stair
Yesterday upon the stair
I saw a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish the heck he'd go away.

The Old Judge
I stood very quiet in front of the judge,
As he read off the charge, I didn’t dare budge.
He sounded quite stressed, as his day was quite busy.
When he said case #3, I began to feel dizzy
“You’re charged with exposure, indecent to be exact.
Peeing on the highway, as a matter of fact.
We have a sound witness, so how do you plead?”
I replied ‘Guilty, your honor, guilty indeed”.
“Eighty dollars” he yelled, “that should be just fine”,
So I reached in my pocket, not to waste any time.
Then I pulled out a hundred, and I let out a call,
“I passed gas as well, so go ahead, take it all”.
Well I thought it was funny and the court room exploded,
But the favor I’d gained very soon it eroded
“Let’s make it two hundred”, I heard the judge yell.
“And seven days behind bars”, as the old gavel fell!

Pink Elephinks
Pink Elephinks
I’ve always been the kind of guy who liked a little smoke
And now & then, if I should dare, I’d do a line of Coke
But ‘shroooms have always done me good, they’ve made me stop and think,
Of just how else I’d ever find pink elephinks in my drink!

I Love Me..
I love me, I think I'm grand,
I sit in the movies and I hold my hand,
I put my hand around my waist,
And if I get fresh, I slap my face.

Romance ~ For the romantic in you...
A Sweetness
A sweetness that is rarely known, floods our very being,
Love enveloping all we are, so capturing, yet freeing.
Passion born from love’s sweet and warm embrace,
Devotion, felt so clearly, from just a look upon her face.
Bliss overcomes, spirits soar, too wondrous to be real,
We are the most that we can be; loving the way we feel.
Experiences we’ve never known shout “Yes, it must be true”,
Not of the mind, but from the heart, a soft whisper, “I love you”.
When we’re together, the hot sun warms us to the core,
Souls connect; a bond is felt, much stronger than before.
It’s taken such a long, long time, yes, we’ve strolled the path,
And now the search is ended, love, we sit, we smile… we laugh.

I Love You
As the sun begins its early day climb, I realize that I love you.
As it slowly descends behind mountains high, I know that I love you.
As the light shines bright and gently warms me, I’m reminded, I love you.
As the stars fill the sky and light fades away, my soul shouts ”I love you”.
As one promising day gives way to the next, my heart tells me “I love you”.
As life slowly travels through the annals of time, my mind says “I love you”.
As I am held in awe of you always, all that I am repeats “I love you”.
As the universe sings its gentle tune, I sing too, because I love you.
